Residential up to $40,000.
Designed by Haughty Culture and constructed by
Gentry Landscaping, the entry and terrace gardens
of this 2.5 hectare property frame and complement
the architecture of the house and provide a
connection to the surrounding gardens.
The terrace is viewed from the main living areas
of the house through several windows that provide
tantalizing glimpses. Feature plants, including
Dracaena draco and Stralezia reinae, were also
framed in key views from the interior of the home.
The terrace gardens – designed as a lush, green
and inviting space that surrounds the sitting area
– flow under the terrace to give the impression
that you are sitting within the garden. The intricate
detail in the stone wall, created by Gary Baker
from Castles & Cascades, adds further interest.
A range of plants was chosen in order to provide
contrasting leaf texture and foliage colour, while
also offering stunning flowers and scents at
different times of the year. Feature plantings of
Xanthorrhoea (grass trees) were used as sculptural
focal points, in keeping with the natural bushland
feel of the open gardens under eucalypts.
The landscape gives the owners the feeling
of a soft, inviting and understated elegance
synonymous with a contemporary resort.
