Using a a broad palette of native and exotic plants,
soil greatly improved with clay and organic
matter, and waterwise irrigation, AKL created a
green, textural and tranquil garden for his clients.
Currently, the planting is predominantly between
one and two years old.
The owners wanted to enhance the existing
mature trees, make the sloping garden more
accessible, and include a range of bird-attracting
A raised vegetable garden provides the owners
with herbs and fresh vegetables, while good paths
and decking allow easy access to all areas of the
garden. Moss rock was used extensively in the
garden, with some rocks weighing over half a tonne.
The owners were so happy with the finished
product that they commissioned Antony to design
and construct the front garden a year later.
This space continues with the theme of the back
garden and also provides shade for the house and
sufficient parking for cars.
Quality materials such as jarrah decking, poured
limestone paving in the back garden and exposed
aggregate concrete to the front finish this practical,
waterwise garden that provides year-round interest.
Well-planned paths and decking
allow access to the entire garden.
