The design of the house lends itself towards a formal
style, with repetition of materials and planting
symmetry, while changes in levels and materials
help define different spaces within the garden.
The main entry gates feature vertical cedar
battens, which provide permeable privacy to
the front garden and also become a recurrent
element throughout the design in the form of
The combination of cognac stone around the
pool and granite paving - with feature inserts of
granite and cobbles to define space and break up
the driveway - helped form a distinct but subtle
palette of materials for the project.
The main pedestrian entry is defined by a
separate entry gate, framed by a subtle paving
insert and LED lighting.
Deciduous trees, clipped hedges and screening
plants are layered to create depth and textural
interest, and reflect seasonal change. Selected
stone borders to the lawn create a clean, crisp
line and match the adjacent paving.
A timber pool sun deck has feature lighting,
while selected plantings soften the space and
form a backdrop at night across the pool vista.
