merging the interesting angle of the honed, charcoal pavers and low dado
walls with the lighter pavers, which run parallel to the house.
e use of the angle provides a good connection with the deep-angled
garden beds against the boundary wall.
Stainless steel features were used throughout the garden, so Janine chose
stainless steel panels to fit in the recesses in the wall. ese act as a striking
backdrop to the feature bowl. e feature bowl is bolted to the plinth from the
inside, so it seems to be balanced on the arc of the base.
Lighting became an integral part of the design to make the most of the
stainless steel usage. Each recess is lit from the base, with recessed LED lights
illuminating and accentuating the reflective properties of the bowl.
e colour scheme was selected by the client in consultation with Heidi
La Cava and Janine. e cool, crisp and fresh colours have a very similar feel
to the adjacent rooms within the house. Best of all -- Monti loves it.
Consultation and design took around two months. Demolition of the previous
garden took two days, with the new construction taking around two months.
e design for this garden cost $4000. e entire spend on a garden of
this calibre was $80,000, which included installing landscaper Winsor
