design, climate, screening the northern neighbour and creating

palm trees blur the boundaries between indoors and out.
The garden has low water use with drip irrigation installed.
. TAKE ME TO PARADISE
is divine garden resembles a private hotel villa
instead of someone's backyard.
Located on a canal in Noosa Waters, the low
maintenance design takes advantage of the odd wedge
shaped block. e design is spacious and has an Asian
resort vibe that exudes class and a calming vibe.
It places the living pavilion square to the water,
with the rest of the house running up the southern
boundary, opening the house to the north.
e pool flows right to the front gate, creating
an expanse of water that both cools the breeze and
separates the property from the street, enhancing the
sense of space and street privacy.
e pool has a swim-up beach, a floating pavilion
(designed to look like it is floating) made from
hardwood timbers with dark stain. e inspiration
for the pool was a holiday in ailand and has a fun
aspect to it.
e garden has minimal plants, with hardy tropical
plants limited to only five species, including Singapore
evergreen frangipani, graziella bamboo, and tiger grass.
e garden is by Chris Clout of Chris Clout Designs
in Queensland and won Best Pool or Water Feature at
the state's BDAW Awards.
