front lawn – which were overcome by
undertaking extensive site evaluation works,
followed by the building of the curved, tiered
steps that lead to the day bed.
A combination of materials, such as
Coral Stone pavers from Bonita Stone, granite
splashback, and decking, works harmoniously
together, and is softened by curved lines and
plantings of hedges and soft foliage.
The existing pool capping was changed to
match the paving and the alfresco area gained
a new outdoor kitchen, decking, and fresh paint.
One possible reason that this garden is so
successful, beyond its well-thought out plan, is
the finishing touches, which are subtle yet
combine functionality with aesthetics.
Little seating nooks around the garden
take advantage of the harbour views, while an
architectural screen, water feature and faux
concrete garden sculptures really bring each
pocket to life.
The LED balls around the pool area have
a remote control to change the colours, further
enhancing the visual delight of this renovation.
This external renovation won the ‘Designer
Residential over 500sqm’ category at the LIAWA
2014 Awards of Excellence.
